Gut Health Is Only Skin Deep

Traditional Chinese Medicine is the most fascinating medicine I've ever known.  When a Physician looks at the body and decided on a diagnosis, they arrive by looking at patterns. One of the most common patterns we see are compromised gastrointestinal health.  You might be familiar with many of the skin disorders that modern medicine diagnose patients with, like dermatitis, eczema, acne etc. I know that in my earlier years I have experienced skin conditions that I thought would be relieved with topical ointment alone. Today we will discover how Chinese Medicine provides longer lasting relief than modern intervention.

Skin is the body's largest organ and the Large Intestine is the longest part of of our digestive system, measuring about 5 feet long.  It's function is to absorb water from indigestible food mater and transmit wasted material from the body.

clinical studies prove Oriental medicine's efficacy in the treatment of skin conditions. In clinical trials at the famous bejing Guan Anmen hosptial 108 patients with psoriasis were enrolled to investigate the effectiveness of Chinese herbal medicine in treating the most challenging skin disease.  72.2% of the patients had a clearing of skin and 11.1 had significant improvement according to Kathleen Rushall at the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine (Treating Skin Conditions With Traditional Chinese Medicine).

Since 1100 to 221 BC Chinese Medicine has treated skin conditions by treating a patient with protocols that provide longer lasting relief than modern methods.  Using a combination of point and herbal remedies internal imbalances therapeutic intervention promotes the healing process.

'Heat' and 'dampness' are the culprit behind skin problems.  Either the body is in excess or deficiency.  These patters are caused by emotional upset, over active hormones and stress from over work. Inadequate fluid intake can make these conditions worse.  Acupuncture is encouraged with herbal remedies to help the body return to homeostasis.  Making smart dietary choices, consuming  phytonutrient rich foods, consuming probiotics that in a time capsule release form will positively impact ones health, reduce abdominal discomfort and skin conditions.  Eating green isn't a one time thing, but a lifestyle that becomes a practice over time.
